It's been discussed on the Moog thread on Inforoo at length, so I thought we could use a poll to see some official results. What beer team are you on???

For me... TEAM HOPS! All the way. No cider or fruity beer for me. I can do the cheap watery beer if I am sitting around at the beach all day.

I love beer but I am not the biggest fan of super hoppy beers. This might be because of what I tend to think of here at home as hoppy (Muskoka Mad Tom IPA and Spearhead) which is just over the line IMO.
More of a fan of an even hop/malt taste mix that you might find in some darker, amber lagers

If I had to I would side with hops. Should have a team malty up there

had this on tap last night... it was deliciously amazing. i think all founder's beers are great - but this one has an amazing hop kick (unlike their centennial IPA, which has the hops but tends more towards a malty finish). try it now.

While I remain on Team Hops, I wanted to post this picture of my Sea Dog Blue Beer with blueberries. Better than any fruity beer has the right to be.

I bet that I'd think it's delish for the first 3 sips... then I would think it's ok. Half way through I would try to pawn it off on someone else. That's how it always goes if I try to veer.

I like ambers, apa's, porters, kolsches, craft pilseners. Not terribly hoppy, but not cheap watery piss or ciders either.
Team Malt?

Hmm...bringing local beer to share is a good idea. I might bring some Wild Heaven, I don't think they have distribution outside of Georgia or Alabama yet. wildheavencraftbeers.com/our-beers/

^ This a great idea. I can certainly bring some hoppy and malty selections of Ontario Micro Craft Brews if there is a meet up, (or for Downtown Inn neighbors)

For the beer enthusiasts here, we should definitely plan a meet-up! If we get 6 people, and each of us brings a six pack of our local favorites... we've got a happening BTW - fixed my link in my previous post... check out the reviews!

TEAM CIDER

Post by Mensch Maschine on Jul 16, 2012 0:53:52 GMT -5
Hey - some of us Hoppy-fans love Cider too! There's another brewery here that makes amazing cider; I'll bring a few from Crispin: The Saint - Naturally fermented using a premium blend of fresh pressed apple juice, not from concentrate, and fermented with Belgian Trappist beer yeasts, The Saint boasts a sweet floral bouquet that develops a yeasty, herbal complexity. Lansdowne - Extra Stout Bodied. A full bodied, confident & imposing cider. Fermented from a premium blend of fresh pressed apple juice, not from concentrate, using Irish stout ale yeast. It produces a slight hint of butterscotch, balanced by a subtle fruitiness and slightly dry crisp finish and a uniquely full & buttery mouth-feel. and.. Cho-tokkyu - Naturally fermented with authentic Sake yeast using a premium blend of fresh pressed apple juice, not from concentrate, with no added malt, spirit, or grape alcohol.
