For the beer enthusiasts here, we should definitely plan a meet-up! If we get 6 people, and each of us brings a six pack of our local favorites... we've got a happening BTW - fixed my link in my previous post... check out the reviews! Totally. We did a similar thing last year and I am down for it again. RunningRaleigh, my former hotel mate, brought a huge cooler (filled with his home brews by the way) and we all added our local beers. Afternoon pre-game party in our room every day. ;D Huge picture windows facing the mountains on the top floor + great beer + even greater Info company = WIN WIN WIN

At Forecastle, I traded Naughty Nurses from CT to Angie in exchange for some various Ohio beers.
If I end up driving to Moog, I can definitely do a lot of trading: New England for whatever beer.

Any suggestions on how to get some wine-sized bottles of beer from MN to NC? I've got some fantastic hard-to-find beers I'd like to bring, but with all of the airline restrictions... not sure the best way to do it!

You will have to check the exact restrictions with UPS or Fedex but that's the best way to send something that you can send via plane. Just send it to your hotel room a few days before you leave, and be courteous and let the hotel/motel that you would like to send a care package to yourself.

As an avid beer trader, I'd suggest FedEx because I prefer their service (free Saturday delivery, etc), but regulations are basically the same. Shipping alcohol via USPS is illegal, but FedEx/UPS just want your business. Pack it right (bubble-wrap, protect every bottle from one another, keep the packing tight within the box, etc), and you'll be fine. Here's the ultimate primer on beer trading, which includes the ultimate primer on beer shipping: bagoliathsnewtradertips.blogspot.com/Oh yeah: Can I be on Team Hops, and start Team Sour?
