A while ago I posted on the FB page about Die Antwoords tour ending in Florida just before Moog and The Orange Peel "liked" it so I assume they will be there. I would totally endorse them being there.

It would diffidently be something interesting to watch, that's for sure. If I just didn't have to listen to them.

Is there anyone here that can confirm (or flatly reject) the rumor that was posted on FB that we're still 2-3 weeks away from a lineup announcement?

Yeah. Abra and I talked to him at Forecastle. Summary: - No Portishead but they have been trying to book them for a while. - David Byrne didn't sound likely. - He said lineup in 2-3 weeks but can't remember the exact reason he gave. They are going to release it all at once and with the schedule though I'm pretty sure. Also, I talked to Tanlines at the Beach House set and they probably won't be there either since they said they had never heard of Moogfest.

I can't say I'm surprised. Something that big, the entire bill and schedule covering the shows and post-shows is just a huge effort. I'd like to get the info sooner but also realize the bill will be what it'll be regardless of when it drops. I've got to go off and find my patience.

Exactly, and he said the reason the lineup is later this year is they wanted all the artists booked before releasing it. I don't know if that means they are going to release it all together or they will do it in two parts like last time.

"Hello everyone! Sorry for the silence but we've been immersed in another festival. And...yes...as some of you have guessed, we are not quite ready to announce the Moogfest 2012 line up. We still have details to lock down with some artists as well as a few logistics still to work through. This year, we want to share with you the full scope of the Moogfest experience before putting tickets on sale. We're super excited about what we have to offer this year and believe that you will be too. We appreciate your patience."

But I'm so bad about being patient for these things! I have a feeling that we can hunt down some essentially confirmed bands on the internet via the usual places, like pollstar, jambase, etc.

They just posted this on their FB wall. Everything is stellar thus far. YES. I hope they aren't blowing their load on these teasers, but everything they are leaking right now is super interesting and not the direction I expected them to go. Perhaps they plan on combining the Big Ears and Moogfest sensibilities since the market is becoming saturated with festivals right now, especially ones booking lots of electronic acts? Keep Moogfest Weird.

OK, reset the speculation on the lineup drop date. I'm calling a big tease to fall on 7/31 with the announcement by 8/2. Pure quackin' speculation though.

I'm loving all of the teased acts thus far, interesting and unique bunch of artists. If things keep up like this we are going to get a very special fest.
Also, I might be the only one on here to say this (and mostly because I have had the pleasure of seeing them already I suppose) but I am not bummed about the Byrne and Portishead news. I'd rather they pull a couple of unexpected, left field, acts at us rather than pull from currently touring or recently touring acts.

A guy on the facebook said that Boards of Canada and Gary Numan had separately said that they would be playing at Moog. I swear I will beat him to death if he is trolling.

If BoC was playing,in any capacity, it would have leaked by now. No way in hell can anyone keep that under wraps.
