I had posted this on Inforoo, but I'll add it here too... Asheville has a great reputation for food and beer. Given that this is my first trip to the city, I'm planning on hitting a couple of these (probably on Thursday and Sunday). - Cúrate - Spanish tapas, run by alumni from El Bulli! Chef Katie Button was a semi-finalist for the James Beard Awards, "Rising Star Chef of the Year"
- The Admiral - Highly regarded Gastropub located within the walls of what appears to be a dive bar.
- Table - Seasonal, New American cuisine.
Any others that I should add to this list? Of course, I've heard great things about Tupelo Honey Cafe's breakfast... Any other recommendations / favorites? How about breweries/brew pubs? Green Man Brewery has a great reputation, and I'm planning on attending the brunch at Asheville Brewing Company on Saturday. Any other favorites?

We went to a few places last year but the most memorable was Mayfel's (need to check the spelling). Great food, funky atmosphere, very friendly staff.

One of my old ex's worked at Zambra for awhile. She took me there last time I was in town and I loved it. Great atmosphere.

I recommend The Lucky Otter for some good burritos. It's in West Asheville at 630 Haywood Road. If anyone is familiar with Boone, it's run by the people who run Black Cat and is very similar. My other favorite in West Asheville is Sunny Point Cafe, which is right by The Lucky Otter. It's a breakfast place, but it fills up fast so get there early or be prepared to wait. It's located at 626 Haywood Road. There's also a great food cart with delicious rabbit tamales that hangs out by the river at The Wedge Brewery in The River Arts District. My friend's friend, whose name I can't remember, works it most nights. Well, he did last October- I have no idea if he still does. While I'm more familiar with West Asheville because my friend with whom I stay lives there (for now), I'd also highly recommend The Thai Orchid downtown by the Civic Center. It's at 11 Broadway Avenue. Generally, pick a local restaurant in Asheville and you can't go wrong.

In addition to what has already been mentioned, I recommend Salsa's. The Cubano burrito rocks my world.
12 Bones BBQ and Early Girl (if you can get a table) are also no slouches.
Even though it's a bar, Jack of the Wood has pretty good food as well.

Alright, I'm planning a bit ahead here, but given the influx of out of towners, I thought I'd make some reservations on non-concert nights (instead of waiting in line / on a list)... Unfortunately, a couple of friends who were going to fly in with me have bailed on Moogfest altogether, so if anyone would like to join me for any of these meals, let me know and if need be, I'll alter the reservations!
On Thursday night @ 7 PM, I'm going to Table On Sunday night @ 5 PM, I'm going to Greenman Brewery, and @ 7 PM Cúrate.
Keeping the other days open just to see how the evenings pan out - thought I'd really like to hit Tupelo, Admiral, or one of the many other recommendations posted here too!

We had no problems last year. Hit the Green Man for lunch on Friday, will gladly do it again. Hit the VIP party on Saturday, and hit Jerusalem Garden Cafe on Sunday. There are a few places that we walked by last year near the ACC that we might check out this year.
I'll run these places by the GF - and see if we can give you some company (but she is liable to come armed with Groupons and such for discounted dining).
I'd like to get a little further south (near the Orange Peel) and throw back a few pints at Craggie or Asheville Brewing Company -- and get over to LAB.
At the very least - maybe we'll see you in the VIP seats.
