Just saw DIIV. And not only were they 100% fucking great, they're also pretty sure they're playing moog! My convo with the drummer went something like this:
Hey, are you guys playing moogfest?
Hmmmm, where is that?
Asheville, NC. in October.
Yeah, we are. (pause) Yeah...I think that's it, yeah.
Cool!

Ok so some bad news.
mooginsider was me. I have a festi friend who used to work for AC and had leaked to me that Modeselektor would be there. I had no reason to doubt him as a source, but used an anonymous name incase he discovered this forum. I decided to take it a step further though and e-mailed Modeselektor's booking agent last night asking what day they were playing. She responded this morning saying that they would not be at Moogfest. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. So either he's full of it, got bad info himself, or the booking agent is covering. Sorry guys.
EDIT: Though this same person gave me Orbital the day before Moog hinted at them. Right now I dont know what to think but I wanted to come clean since the info now has a chance to be false.

Tour goes south after Savannah so Asheville on the 26th makes sense. I will punch Ashley Capps in the throat if they're not booked.
Good acts rarely get booked in Savannah and then BMSR is booked Moog weekend. So pissed.

I told him today his info was wrong and he got mad at me for "betraying" his trust by emailing their booking agent and still insisted up and down they'd be there. Meh.

I'm not saying that they will be there but I tend to not believe booking agents. Working with so many over the year, I've learned that they will only tell you the truth if the money is right.

I have some really good news!! I've been working a few angles to get an 'in' with Moogfest, and I can finally say: MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.

This is from the YouTube comment section so take it for what it's worth (and it's from 2 months ago), but the only other fest AbdeCaf has been announced for (that I am aware of) is Northcoast. He would be a perfect fit at Moog.  EDIT: Mostly, I'm just bored and it's 24 hours before lineup drop. |
