We need a Moog Insider. ....Maybe Inforoo's Insider can be Moog's Insider too? Same company..........

"One of them I can’t announce, but he rarely performs in public these days. I’m not sure what he’s going to do; he might just play acoustic piano. But we can go there, if that’s what he wants to do."Interpretation: "He could play spoons on his dick, we just want him there"

What's sad is gravitate to those performances. MM ruled out Philip Glass.

Are we pretty much all expecting an experimental composer? I really don't want to even try and guess, but after Philip getting marked out... a returning Brian Eno?

That's where my head is. It's the "acoustic piano" that kinda screams that to me.

Perhaps Steve Reich?

I doubt it would be Reich, although that'd be very cool and it would definitely fit the bill. Reich performs somewhat regularly, especially for a 70-something year-old. I too am guessing Eno.

Moogfest just posted this to Facebook.
Looks like it is Harold Budd.

I'm geeking. Harold Budd totally fits what AC was saying in the interview.
Me wants.

Ambient/minimalist composer that has been around since the 60s. Collaborated with Brian Eno on Eno's second Ambient record (Eno also produced a few of Budd's records), and was a professor at CalArts in the 70s.

via Facebook. "What do a renowned avant-garde composer, a buzzy California alt hip-hop act and a dub techno maestro have in common? They’re joining the Moogfest lineup on Monday. Let the guessing begin!"
!!!
My guesses: Composer - Harold Budd (already hinted at) Hip Hop act - Frank Ocean (plenty of buzz and HOLY SHIT PLEASE) Dub techno - Deepchord (definitely the maestro of dub techno, and just released an excellent new record)

As much as id LOVE for it to be Frank Ocean, he's not "Alt Hip Hop"

My money is on Death Grips as the hip-hop act, which would be mind-blowing.
My hope is on Reich as the composer, but agree that's a longshot and is more likely Harold Budd.

Yea, I'd say Budd is a lock. Death Grips would be amazing, but with their "we're not touring till the album is finished" announcement its hard to peg them. I wouldnt be surprise if its someone smaller no one has even mentioned yet.
And as far as the dub-techno, hell, that could be anyone at this point.

Watching Gesaffelstein on the Bestival webcast, really enjoying it.
I think were probably done with adds after Monday, but I wouldn't mind seeing this guy on the lineup.

As much as id LOVE for it to be Frank Ocean, he's not "Alt Hip Hop" If it's with OFWGKTA then it could be considered alt hip hop. Their tour has missed the South mostly and ends on 9/30. I think it's plausible.

My guess for the dub techno "wild card" is Andy Stott

These additions are great! I will be doing my best (barring conflicts) to see Andy Stott. As a deep, dark, techno fan, this is a killer addition
