I think the DJ area may have been scrapped. It's not listed in the venues section. Who knows though. I'm betting you are right. The venue page is just list the Explore.com Arena/Thomas Wolfe, Asheville Music Hall, and The Orange Peel. I have a feeling that idea got nixed. They don't list the Moog-a-plex yet though. If memory serves right that has always been a "late addition" as a venue in the past 2 years. I could be wrong though. I also thing they will at least add 2 artists/bands to Saturday. Nothing huge, local, but I'm really hoping fro Panther God.

So, maybe I'm reading into this a little, but indications are that this ain't the full lineup. From the FAQ "more than 30 artists" but only 30 are listed. I noticed that too, but maybe that's just splitting hairs... hoping though.

From their FB page Moogfest Definitely a time saver, thanks! And just for the record, Jerry, we tried hard on Underworld (one of our all time faves too) but they weren't available. . Next year!

I'm in agreement that we might see a small handful of adds and that they may have scrapped the dj area. That being said, what becomes the dj venue? There certainly are enough dj's to warrant a space dedicated for this and for room to dance.

Just stay away from Thomas Wolfe if you want to dance.

More likely the Ashe Music hall will be the spot for this (unless they do stick to their initial plan of creating a club space).

I'm guessing....
Friday
Civic Center: Primus 3D, Miike Snow, Richie Hawtin TWA: Squarepusher, Explosions in the Sky, Pantha du Prince
Saturday
Civic Center: Orbital, Santigold, Four Tet TWA: The Magnetic Fields, Thomas Dolby
Plus others on those stages, obviously. These just seem like good fits.

I'm still listening to a few bands I didn't know before this lineup, but I have given everyone at least a first listen now, and I think this lineup is extremely solid top-down. I'm not a huge Primus fan, but as a whole I love this lineup.
EDIT: And I am not ready to even begin thinking about conflicts.

If they aren't doing DJs in that big room, I don't think they are going to dedicate one venue for DJs only. They'll probably just continue on like the past.

If they had to get rid of a venue, why couldn't it be Asheville Music Hall?

If they had to get rid of a venue, why couldn't it be Asheville Music Hall? They need a smaller venue. AMH isn't seated, and it's probably cheaper than the Diana Wortham Theatre.

Primus 3D is $54? Wow.

I actually thought it would be more, honestly. I paid $53 for a Magnetic Fields ticket in DC, a few weeks after Moog.
Crazy. If you see just 3 of the top 8, the rest will be an added bonus.

ATL: US $39.50 Ticket + US $12.50 LIVE NATION Fees = US $52.00 Pre-sale tix through their website were $39.50 + $4.90service fee + $2.50 delivery charge (optional if you want a hard tix and not print at home) = $46.90. They are playing 2 sets for the 3D shows, so it's 3 hours of music. The last time that I saw them play 2 sets was in 2004 when Tim Alexander was drumming for them and those tickets were $30-35, I think. As we all know, ticket fees from Ticketmaster & Live Nation have gotten much higher in recent years though due to many variables that I'm sure you're all aware of.

Yeah, $39.50 makes more sense. I thought it was $54 plus fees.

"Stacey, given that we just announced the lineup and tickets haven't gone on sale yet, any possible additions will be down the road. And your weekend pass or daily ticket will allow you admission into all shows each night from start to finish." - Moogfest
It's my theory that additions will depend on how ticket sales are.

Explosions in the Sky was around $40 at Chicago Theatre, which is a more expensive venue.
